Seriously Thursday

Hey guys! It's Seriously Thursday over at From Mrs. to Mama, I've missed a couple of weeks but this week I definitely had some things that made me go seriously this week.

1.  Seriously my babies toddlers decided they were too cool for 2 naps any longer, they had been 2 naps a day type of toddlers for a long time and it was blissfull but I guess all good things come to and end so we are trying to figure out what works best for our new schedule.

2.  Teen Mom reunion/therapy session, seriously Farrah drives me insane, like when she decided right then that she wanted to take her daughter with her, wishy washy much Farrah, I mean it's bad enough that you were going to leave your daughter with your parents which I guess I can kind of comprehend on her end since she is still I think way too immature to raise her daughter 24/7 on her own but come on.  She is a spoiled little brat who really hasn't changed much from the beginning of the show. ::end rant::

3.  Seriously I am actually ready for fall weather and pumpkins and hay rides and fall colors.  I love fall and we are now having nice weather (mid 70's) which never really made an appearance this summer but is now...weird.  Plus October is my birthday month so that may have something to do with it all!

4.  Seriously I finally sat down and scheduled the twins 18 month (HOLY CRAP 18 MONTHS) appt for November, scheduled the dog for a grooming appointment and scheduled for house cleaners to come do some down and dirty cleaning, I had been meaning to do all of thee above for awhile but finally got around to it.

5.  Seriously I work with all women...enough said...it's been one of "those" weeks over here people.

6.  Seriously ready for the weekend and Grey's Anatomy is on tonight so YAY!

Ok so what made you go SERIOUSLY this week!! Come on you know you wanna tell us.

IF...Yes I'm totally doing it

Ok I've been seeing this on a few other blogs lately so I thought I would join in and play!
Fill in the blanks....
If I were to get pregnant again...I would be absolutely 100% THRILLED since getting pregnant is such a process for us it's not like it would just happen, it would be throughly planned.
If I could have any job in the world...I would be a SAHM, which I would have never said even two years ago, I would probably have my own side business of event planning but would do it for fun, if I had to work, I would probably do something in the event planning/marketing area.
If I had a day to myself...Probably the same as everyone else's answer, I would sleep until I woke up and then I would get a massage, mani/pedi and do a little shopping for myself.
If I could get married all over again...I would do everything the same other then probably a different location, and I would have changed my bouquet, I hated my bouquet, it wasn't what I had envisioned in my head at all, but what can you do.
If I could live anywhere in the US...Honestly I would stay where I am.  When I was younger I always thought I would live in CA or NY now I am so happy with Washington, we have seasons, it's not $$$ to purchase a house sure it's not super cheap by any means but I am positive I could never afford a house in NY or CA.
If my girl would have been boy they would have been named...HAHA, heres my answer, if Ava was a boy she would be Landon and if Landon was a girl he would have been Ava, see the great part of having B/G twins...lol
If I could have any talent in the world....I would be an amazing chef! I would be able to whip up something out of anything!
If you met me in real life...You would probably think I am super shy which usual comes off as snobby (oops), but if you got to know me I'm pretty sure you would stick around, most do!
If I could go back to school and get a different degree...If I were to go back to school it would to get a degree in business/marketing, I never did get to the college thing, I got married instead.
If money was no object...I would have a house that is paid off, a new SUV, and be able to take awesome family vacations, and no debt at all EVER!
If I could meet one celebrity, it would be....O geez...lets see, I would probably want to meet Britney Spears, just because I love her, I have since well forever, and I just think she seems like a sweet and misunderstood girl.
If I could shop at only one store the rest of my life...Like for everything or just for clothes, if it was for everything OBVIOUSLY is would be Target, if it was just clothes it would probably be Nodstroms or Gap.
If we were to get another pet it would be...a fish because we already have two dogs (a Great Dane which should count for like 5 dogs, and a Cavachon), and fish are low maintence.
If I could go on a trip right now...Somewhere I could lay on a beach with a drink in my hand and sunglasses on.  With pretty clear water and great food.  Or I would go back to Maui because that's where we honeymooned and it was amazing!
If I had to choose between a house cleaner and a personal chef...If I have to choose one I would go with the housecleaner, becuase I don't mind cooking, I just hate cleaning up, and I hate laundry, like hate, I don't mind doing it but I hate folding and putting it away.
If I had the option of plastic surgery...Probably a boob job, I used to be a C (well thats debatable) but now I'm an A (and thats not debatable), pregnancy and pumping did me in.

Babyproofing/MIL proofing 101

So with the twins being more active then ever, we had to do some babyproofing...ya know so that thing 1 doesn't put their hand in the toilet water...not that it ever happened at our house ::shame::, or get into the cabinet that contains all things glass.

So off to Target/Babies r us I went.  I got the door handle thingys, the cabinet locks, the oven door lock, the toilet seat thing so thing 1 can't put his toys in the toilet...not that it ever happened at our house again ::shame::

We got everything assembled and thought WOW awesome, they cant break anything or go somewhere they shouldn't be....little did I know that babyproofing also meant MIL proofing...

Now let me start by saying this, these knob covers were different then ones I had seen before, you know the ones, you squeeze and open the door, these you have to grab as hard as you can in the two little holes to grasp the door knob and open.  My hubby must not have shown my MIL this because...well...she couldn't get it open which resulted in her having to use our master bath which was a DISASTER which then resulted in her doing my laundry since it was piling up in there...bless her heart.  When I got home she said between her arthritis and the two tiny holes she couldn't figure it out and get into the bathroom.  We both had a little laugh and I told her I would make sure I just take that one off on days she comes to watch the twins, which just reminds me that I didn't take it off today so I guess she will be using my bathroom again.

I mean I guess my laundry got done because of it so I'm not going to complain or {insert a blonde joke} here anywhere.

I just never knew that baby proofing my house meant I was MIL proofing it as well... Hope you all are having a GREAT week!

MARY KAY WEBSHOW!! JOIN IN!

GO HERE NOW!

A few weeks back I posted on twitter about needing to try something new for my beauty regime.  Not 10 minutes later Sonja had tweeted me back about Mary Kay products that she had just started selling.  Now I had never tried Mary Kay, been to a Mary Kay party or really paid much attention to their product line.  I was mainly having issues with my skin deciding it was in high school after giving birth to the twinsies.  I was having issues with breakouts ::Shudder::.  She suggested trying the Velocity line, I decided what the heck, the product cost less then half of what I had been trying so whats to loose.

BEST DECISION EVER!!

I love this stuff, my skin is in such better condition now thanks to it.  I am officially a convert and plan on slowly replacing my stuff with Mary Kay products.  And to think if I hadn't tweeted I would have never known.  I plan on transitioning to the TimeWise

Well Sonja gave me the option of hosting a Mary Kay Webshow Party! and who doesn't love a good party...right!  So Today ONLY I am hosting a web party for Mary Kay! I am so excited!

Not only do their products rock, they help out some great causes including Breast Cancer which is near and dear to my heart as my mom, aunt and several extended family members have beat this nasty disease.

Now head over here to place an order, remember you only have until MIDNIGHT tonight!  Also remember to put my name "Brittany" in the order form!!

So I Found This Great Deal + a bunch of other stuff

I found this great deal on Living Social last week which consists of two people cleaning my house for 3 hours.  Great right, until I started thinking about how I kind of need to clean before I can have people clean my house??  I mean I didn't hire someone to put away laundry or do dishes.... so I don't think I thought this through, however, I will have a clean house someday because it has an expiration date and I WILL use it.

Now I just have to decide where to start, I kind of think I need to turn it into a purgeabunchofjunk I have collected since moving into our house 3+ years ago.  Since we have no plans this weekend I think I will try to start and tackle this house.  But I am super excited about someone else coming and doing some deep cleaning which is badly needed around here, I mean I could count the times I have "deep cleaned" this house since we brought the twins home from the hospital on two hands.  It's shameful really.

Onto another topic, my precious little 16 month old baby toddler Landon, learned how to climb out of his crib the other day, thanks to twitter I was able to post the question and within minutes had a bunch of suggestions.  I ended up choosing to put his mattress on the floor of his crib which should buy me a few months...I hope.  I'm now just waiting for Ava to try the same thing.

The twins are now 16 months old, in fact I kind of forgot until yesterday that they officially were 16 months old now, I guess the days sometimes run together when I'm busy.  They get busier by the day it seems and I just can't believe how quickly the time goes.  Which reminds me I need to schedule their 18 month appointment.  I have a 16 month post in the works, I just have to get some cute pictures first.

I am looking forward to fall, I think I actually need to turn the heat on in the house today because I'm freezing! I mean we really only had a week or two of summer here in the PNW but I love fall, especially here in the PNW, it means fall clothes and sweaters and cute boots and falling leaves.  I can't wait to take the twins to the pumpkin patch and paint or carve pumpkins, dress them up in their Halloween costumes and go trick or treating.  I can't wait for my birthday which falls in October.  I can't wait for Thanksgiving because it is probably my favorite holiday which is then followed by fun shopping on Black Friday and then that means it is CHRISTMAS! Can you tell I'm excited!

Ok guys! Hope you all have a great weeked, I'm off to clean my closet, if you haven't heard from me by next week, send a rescue crew (just kidding...kind of)!

Lets Sit Down and Catch Up!

Hi everyone, I have been M.I.A and so busy lately.  So here's a little catch up.

1st and foremost thanks to my awesome guest blogger who took some stress away from last week!

Now onto catching up, my big events for this year are now over and I can breath again.  I am solely responsible for these classes and other then our staff showing up on the morning of to help with registration and taking payments it is all on my shoulders to make sur everything else happens.  I deal with sponsors and speakers and large conference centers to coordinate these events and when they come together and no one complains I am a happy girl.

This last Friday we had a little blip at the beginning, as in the entire mic system went down 10 minutes before we were supposed to start, the poor crew was running around and finally had to pull out the old school speakers and HOUR LATE! I was getting so stressed and nervous and being the control freak that I am, couldn't stand that I could not do one little thing about it, and just had to sit there and wait and wait for them to get it up and running.

After the class our family got to enjoy the Great Wolf Lodge and we had a blast, because of the problems that morning they upgraded my room and had chocolate waiting for me when I checked in, that's what you call customer service ;) aka sucking up so I choose them and pay them lots of money next year.

Here are a few pictures of our weekend.

Here are some pictures of our event!

The room all set up with swag!

Water park passes for all!

Introducing our first speaker Dr. Dolphine Oda

And our main speaker Dr. Stanley Malamed!

And here are the pictures from after our class and from our family fun time at Great Wolf Lodge!

So nice to catch up a little with all of you and now I can resume normal blogging and catching up on all of your blogs as well, I've missed you all dearly!

P.S. I totally wore my bikini but I am totally not showing you! ;)

And if you have a moment please vote for us so I can meet more multiple mommies! Hope you all are having a GREAT WEEK!

The Family Pictures That Almost Weren't

A couple of weeks ago we had our wonderful photographer Kristina take our family photos.  I had the bright idea of having a beachy family picture, I always see them and LOVE them.  So I googled for the best location and finally settled on Fort Worden, just google it and you'll see why I chose it.  It had a lighthouse, a sandy beach and blue water.  It had been in the mid to high 80's inland so I figured at worst it would be 70-75 at the coast, boy I was SO wrong.  We got there and it was windy, SO WINDY and COLD! Kristina is a trooper and bless her heart was so patient with us trying to get the twins happy enough to get a few photos.

So we went as fast as we could and got some family pictures and then a few of Ava and Landon.  They were so cold their teeth were chattering (cue mommy guilt).  I had such idealic thoughts of beautiful sandy beachy pictures and it was anything but.  We would put the twins in the car to warm up and then bribe them with animal crackers.

Kristina ended up with some amazing shots as usually and it was not a total loss as I thought it was going to be.  This is why Kristina is and always will be our family photographer and good friend! We may try Fort Worden again some day you know when its actually warm and sunny and isn't windy.

Here are some of my favorite shots she got that day!

And I don't know if any of you live in the PNW but if you do go here and check out Kristina's work, she is pretty much A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Baby Books Can Be Easy- Guest Post

Today I have a great guest post for you guys from Gretchen at That Mama Gretchen, Gretchen is mama to Jemma who is just absolutely adorable! I happen to know Gretchen IRL and she is just as awesome as her blog is! Gretchen and I go way back, like before we were born! We both share October as our birthday month! Today Gretchen has written a great post on baby books, which I am terrible at keeping up.  But reading her tips make the task less daunting as it sometimes seems.  Enjoy!

I'm sure you can all relate when I say the first year flys by. One minute, your little is a snuggly ball of coo and spit up and the next they are movin' and groovin' all over the living room! What's a mama to do?
During my maternity leave I religiously documented milestones in Jemma's baby book. I printed pictures from her first week of life and secured them on each page with sweet captions and memories of our first moments together. Then long nights turned into naps during the day and before I knew it was February and she was 4 months old! I was preparing to return to work and Jemma's baby book was lacking to say the least. Can anyone relate?
Since returning to work, efficiency has become my middle name. Efficiency is how I created a baby book especially for busy mamas and their busy babies ...

It ain't pretty, but it is functional. This simple binder serves it's purpose by recording memories as they happen. I keep it on my desk at work and review it weekly when I glance over my Outlook. I have 11 (going on 12) memory-filled pages notating many moments of our wonderful days together ...
October 12: First trip to Starbucks
November 22/26: Met her California and Texas cousins
January 15 - Hit 20 pounds of chunky cuteness
February 26 - Dedicated to Jesus at church
March 19 - First time at at hotel
June 1 - Started crawling!
July 16 - Waving to everyone
August 23 - Learning to clap and dance
Want to create your own Busy Mama Baby Book?
You only need a few things ...
1/2 inch binder
12 sheet protectors
Print out of the upcoming 12 months
That's it! Take 5 minutes each week and jot down your favorite memories - all the firsts, doctor appointments, vacations, special mama/baby moments, and developmental milestones. You'll be happy you did!
In addition to my binder baby book I've also kept a blog to document my pregnancy and Jemma's first year. I'd love for you to stop by and follow along
